We're looking for people with excellent communication skills, who work well under pressure, and have a passion to help others in our 111 Health Advisor and 111 Clinical Advisor roles.

 

You don’t need previous healthcare experience to apply as full on-the-job training will be provided.

We have vacancies in Newcastle, Stockton-on-Tees, Stoke-on-Trent, and Stafford.

As an NHS-111 Health Advisor, no two shifts are the same. A typical day could include:

  • Sending an ambulance for patients with life threatening symptoms or conditions
  • Referring patients to an Emergency Department or an Urgent Treatment Centre
  • Managing calls from patients with Mental Health concerns
  • Making an appointment with GP and dental services
  • Signposting patients to pharmacies or other local services
  • Providing self-care and home management advice

What we're looking for in you:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A professional, caring empathetic attitude
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure and manage challenging situations sensitively
  • Experienced and competent in using IT software and packages
  • 3 GCSE grade C or above (including English) or equivalent relevant work-based experience

If successful, you must be available full-time for 7 weeks to complete the required training at Newcastle, Teesside or Stoke.

As a Nurse or Paramedic, you will champion quality care, applying your clinical knowledge and skills to ensure our patients receive the right level of care when they urgently need it.

We have vacancies in Newcastle, Stockton-on-Tees, and Stoke-on-Trent.

As a 111 Clinical Advisor, you will:

  • Provide a comprehensive telephone triage and clinical assessment
  • Support the ambulance dispatch process, ensuring appropriate deployment
  • Provide advice and support to Health Advisor or frontline operational colleagues
  • Provide accurate healthcare information, self-care/health improvement advice
  • Refer or book patients into urgent or primary care services appropriate to the level and type of care they need

What we're looking for in you:

  • A current professional registration with either the NMC or HCPC.
  • At least one year of work post registration, ideally with some experience in an acute/primary care setting
  • Ability to assimilate large quantities of information quickly, accurately and communicate outcomes clearly
  • Self-motivated with the ability to support and enthuse others by demonstrating a commitment to the delivery of high-quality patient care
