Corporate Wellbeing Case Study: Fitness Centre design and management
The client wanted to offer its staff a service that replicated a high-end fitness centre. Furthermore, it wanted to ensure its staff were engaged in the service and that their health benefited as a result.
EFP started with the design of the fitness centre and equipment choice. Providing top of the range equipment and clean, sleek design allows the gym to be a separate space, away from the office.
The corporate fitness facility has proved popular with employees and contractors alike. The facility boasts a large, spacious gym area, a wooden sprung-floored sports hall which can accommodate five-a-side football, badminton, basketball and netball. The facility also incorporates two fitness studios which host a variety of exercise classes as well as two squash courts and an outdoor multi-sports area.
The gym is available 24 hours a day to members. There is a dedicated team of four qualified fitness professionals available during weekdays from 6.30am to 7.30pm to assist with all fitness and exercise queries and instruction offering personal training, personal fitness programmes and nutritional advice.
EFP hosts over 20 classes per week and ensures there is something for everyone from high energy HIIT classes to low impact toning classes. The fitness team has also been working beyond the boundaries of the club itself, targeting staff in the Aberdeen area, and is assisting with co-ordinating and maintaining a Healthy Working Lives calendar of events for which a Gold level has already been achieved. The team has also been involved in the new building open day and an HSE awareness week and has hosted an interdepartmental football tournament with many other events in the pipeline in the coming months working alongside the sports and social committees.
